Essential Design Collective was created to simplify the most overlooked part of any move or renovation—the in-between.
With a background in operations and years working alongside interior designers, we understand what happens behind the scenes when a home is in transition. Furniture is arriving, spaces are shifting, and there’s often no clear plan for what to do with everything in the process.
That’s where we come in.
Our Story
How experience, structure, and real-world insight shaped what we do today.
Founder Lisa Bone earned a degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Educational Supervision in Arkansas. She began her career teaching kindergarten in Memphis, TN before stepping away to raise her family. That foundation still shapes how she approaches every project today - with a strong sense of organization, structure, and the belief that everything should have a place.

Years later, Lisa launched a bookkeeping business, working with a variety of clients. One of those clients was an interior designer, and what began as a financial role quickly evolved into a full-time position as Director of Operations. Over five years, she became deeply immersed in the interior design industry, managing projects, coordinating installs, and overseeing the many moving parts behind the scenes.
In 2023, she launched a logistics company to support interior designers, focusing on receiving, storage, and coordination. Through that work, one consistent need became clear.
As the work evolved, it became clear clients didn’t just need help managing what stayed - they needed help with what was leaving, too. What began as coordination naturally expanded into guiding the final stage of the transition, helping pieces move on through resale, donation, or thoughtful removal.
That experience shaped a more thoughtful approach to the transition itself.
